Safrochain Forum Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

Welcome to the Safrochain Community Forum (“the Forum”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit or participate in the Forum, how we use it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over your data. By using the Forum, you agree to the practices described below.

If anything in this policy is unclear, or if you would like to exercise any of the rights described here, please contact us at [email protected].

1. What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on the Forum and gather data when you participate by reading, writing, voting on, bookmarking, or otherwise evaluating content shared here.

When you register, you will be asked to provide:

  • A username (public display name)

  • A valid email address (verified by a unique confirmation link; by visiting that link, you confirm you control the address)

  • Optionally, a profile picture, short bio, timezone, and display preferences

You may browse the Forum publicly without registering, though certain features (posting, replying, messaging, receiving digests) require an account.

When you are registered and posting, we record the IP address from which the post originated. We also retain server access logs that include the IP address, user agent, and request path for every request made to our servers. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

We also collect information automatically as part of normal forum operation:

  • Activity metadata: posts, topics, likes, views, read time, edits, notifications

  • Device & browser information: user-agent string, screen size, language preferences

  • Technical data: referring URL, pages visited, timestamps, session identifiers

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, financial account numbers, or health records) and ask that you do not share such information on the Forum. The Safrochain Forum is a discussion platform and is not the place to transmit wallet private keys, seed phrases, or recovery codes. No Safrochain staff member will ever ask for these.

2. What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience: your information helps us better respond to your individual needs and preferences (e.g., topic subscriptions, language, notification frequency).

  • To improve the Forum: we continually strive to improve the platform based on aggregated usage signals and direct feedback from the community.

  • To improve member support: your information helps us respond effectively to support requests, moderation appeals, and account recovery.

  • To send periodic emails: the email address you provide may be used to send account notifications, replies and mentions you have subscribed to, digests, responses to inquiries, security alerts, and, occasionally, important announcements about the Forum or the Safrochain ecosystem. You can adjust or unsubscribe from most notification categories in your account preferences.

  • To keep the Forum safe: we use your data to prevent spam, abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and to enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

We do not use your forum activity to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your personal data.

3. How do we protect your information?

We implement a range of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access it, including:

  • TLS encryption (HTTPS) for all traffic between your browser and our servers

  • Passwords stored as salted, one-way hashes (never in plain text)

  • Role-based access controls for staff and moderators

  • Regular security updates to the underlying forum software and server operating system

  • Firewall rules, rate limiting, and automated abuse detection

  • Routine backups, stored with encryption

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.

4. What is our data retention policy?

We make a good-faith effort to:

  • Retain server logs (including IP addresses of requests) for no more than 90 days, after which they are deleted or anonymized, unless a specific log is retained longer for security, legal, or abuse-investigation purposes.

  • Retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal identifiers (email address, IP history, private messages) are removed or anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

  • Retain public posts indefinitely, even after account deletion. Your authored content may be kept under an anonymized attribution (“former user”) so that ongoing discussions and references remain coherent. You may request redaction of specific posts that contain personal information by contacting us.

  • Retain backups on a rolling 30-day cycle; data in backups is purged as backups age out.

5. Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that the Forum or its service provider transfers to your device through your web browser (if you allow). These cookies allow the Forum to recognize your browser and, if you have a registered account, associate it with that account.

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you signed in across sessions

  • Remember your preferences (theme, language, notification settings)

  • Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and other abuse

  • Compile aggregate analytics about site traffic and interaction so we can improve the Forum

We may engage third-party service providers to help us understand how the Forum is used. These providers are bound by contract to use data only as necessary to provide services to us and may not use it for their own marketing.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the Forum (such as staying logged in) may not work correctly if you do.

6. Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating the Forum, conducting our business, or servicing you, such as hosting providers, email delivery services, anti-spam services, and error monitoring, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential and use it only as necessary to provide services to us.

We may release your information when we believe, in good faith, that release is appropriate to:

  • Comply with a valid legal process (subpoena, court order, or equivalent lawful request)

  • Enforce our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines

  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Safrochain, our members, or the public

Non-personally identifiable, aggregated, or anonymized information (for example, “the Forum had N weekly active users”) may be shared publicly or with partners for analytics and reporting.

7. Third-party links

Occasionally, at our discretion, the Forum or its members may include or link to third-party products, services, or websites, including blockchain explorers, wallets, exchanges, or external articles. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content, practices, or activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of the Forum and welcome feedback about any external site you encounter here.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete

  • Delete: ask us to delete your account and associated personal data

  • Export: receive a portable copy of your content and profile data

  • Object or restrict: object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing of your data

  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on your consent, withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

9. Children’s online privacy protection

The Forum, and the products and services offered on it, are directed to people who are at least 13 years old. If the server hosting this Forum is located in the United States, and you are under the age of 13, per the requirements of COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), do not use this Forum or submit any personal information. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.

Some jurisdictions (including parts of the European Union) set a higher minimum age for data-processing consent. In those jurisdictions, the applicable minimum age will apply instead of 13.

10. Online privacy policy only

This online Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Safrochain Forum and not to information collected offline or by other channels (for example, in-person events, unrelated emails, or other Safrochain products governed by their own policies).

11. On-chain activity

The Safrochain blockchain is a public ledger. Any wallet address, transaction, or on-chain activity you choose to link to your forum profile (for example, by verifying a wallet signature or posting your address publicly) may be permanently visible to anyone with access to the blockchain. We cannot delete or modify on-chain records. Please think carefully before connecting a personal wallet address to a forum identity, and never share private keys or seed phrases on the Forum.

12. Your consent

By using the Safrochain Forum, you consent to this Privacy Policy and to the collection and use of information as described here.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

If we decide to change this Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced via a pinned forum topic and, where appropriate, by email to registered members. Continued use of the Forum after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
